With his very first harvest mankind developed a love and bond with his land.  From his first tentative attempts at sustenance farming where he developed a knack for harvesting the land.  To today’s massive commercial farms mankind knew that as long as the seasons came and went with regularity and the soil was fertile that he could not only feed himself but generate a livelihood by trading his wares with others.

For thousands of years not much changed.  Success was then, as it is now dependent on the season and the fertility of the soil.  Man found out quickly that he needed to maintain his lands.  This is where age old organic farming methods were developed.  We prefer to call them traditional methods.

Regardless of the methods applied, soil fertility has always presented its challenges.  There is no need to go into an intense scientific explanation as its quite simple.  Between the nutrients (minerals both macro and trace) we extract from the soil with every harvest coupled with the loss of minerals as the result of rains and irrigation.  More nutrients are lost from our soil then we could ever replenish.

The flipside is that every season gets harder and harder, yields suffer, and along with the dive in yields crop quality suffers as well.  Crops that are less nutrient dense don't look as good, they don't taste as good, and less resistant to disease and pestilence.

If you are wondering where nutrients (minerals) that are lost end up?  It’s quite simple.   One way or another they all end up getting washed down into the sea.  Billions of tons of dissolved solids are jettisoned via waterways straight into the sea year in year out in America alone.

Once in ocean water these dissolved solids or minerals are suspended in the most perfectly balance liquid solution on earth.  “We are of course talking Ocean Water”

Gerry Amena a farmer in the traditional sense figured out decades ago that if he was to continue his passion for farming that he would have solve the issue of soil fertility.  He looked to the sea.  And Amena’s Sea Minerals was born.

With the very first application of sea minerals Gerry experienced such profound results that he was determined then to somehow spread the news to every corner of the world.  For a number of years we have been doing this at a comfortable pace.

Today, with a sense of urgency we wish to help every farmer who would listen break the bonds and reliance on chemicals which has made a few very wealthy while at the same time made most farmers into servants of their land rather than the masters of it.
